Quartets 2019

Aris Quartett
Cosmos Quartet
Dalia Quartet
Dudok Quartet
Esmé Quartet

Young, exciting and international – that is how the current string quartet scene can be characerized. The five quartets of this year’s String Quartet Festival reflect this perfectly: The Spanish Cosmos Quartet, first prizewinners of last year’s Heidelberg Irene Steels Wilsing Competition, returns to the city. The young Esmé Quartet is a scholarship holder of the Jeunesses musicales Weikersheim. The Aris Quartet, still young, has long since established itself on the international stage. The Dudok Quartet comes from the Netherlands – an ensemble that has founded its outstanding reputation on strong programmatic concepts. Spain for the second time: The Dalia Quartet from Barcelona not only masters the classics of the repertoire, but also sees itself as an ambassador for the compositions of its home country.
